I cannot believe almost two months has gone by. I am so excited to be here in Lima after a flight duration of 20 hours and 5 minutes. The flight had two stops in Santa Cruz, Bolivia and La Paz, Bolivia. The flight cost $576 and I travelled a total of 2525.11 kilometers. I was able to spend 4 full days in Lima, and while I was there I got the chance to walk around, visit the Marcahuas, and the Parque Reserva. While walking around Lima I was able to experience the culture of this country. The ultra-modern seaside neighbourhoods with gritty shantytowns that cling to hillsides. Lima even has a golf course in the middle of the financial district. The glass enclosed apartment buildings, and high-rise business towers truly made you feel as if you were in New York City.

My hike in the Marcahuas was one of the highlights of my entire trip. I was 13 000 feet above sea level, over-looking the Pacific Ocean. Marcahuas is the energetic and mystical wonder of the world. It was truly an amazing experience, but I got a little bit of a sunburn.

The Parque Reserve is an excellent place for people watching. It is located in the middle of many universities and schools. It consists of beautiful fountains and funky stores. I was quite surprised to find out that I had to pay .50 sole to use the washroom. It was kind of funny actually.

One part of the Peruvian culture is returning to its roots, which is it's amazing cuisine. I was able to experience their cultural food at 'La Locanda" restaurant. There were so many foods to chose from and the staff was very friendly, and passionate in helping me chose what to eat. I stayed at the Hotel Atton San Isidro. This hotel was perfect because it was 5 minutes away from everything and was $70 per night. I am so sad to leave Lima, Peru and head back home to Toronto. This whole vacation has been truly amazing.
